Social media detox might sound extreme, but have you ever stopped to ask yourself how much time you spend on your mobile daily?

For most people, the answer would probably not be less than 4 to 5 hours.

Signs You Need to Detox from Social Media

Ask yourself honestly:

Do I control my mobile or does it control me?

Do I unlock it with intention or just out of habit?

Do I pick it up because I need it or because I can’t help it?

If your fingers reach for your phone every few minutes…

If you feel anxious when the battery is low…

If you open Instagram without realizing…

If you scroll for “just 5 minutes” and it turns into an hour…

Then it’s not you using your phone.

It’s your phone using you.

Effects of a Social Media Detox on Your Mind

Our mobile phones are consuming our time and energy just like fire consumes fuel. Many people are suffering from brain fog, energy drain, and laziness due to endless scrolling. A study from Massachusetts General Hospital explains how constant digital distractions has been linked to increased rates of anxiety and depression.

And worst of all?

You start to fear silence. You feel uneasy when there’s no notification, no buzz, no screen glowing in your face.

But this isn’t some curse that we can’t escape from.

How to Do a Social Media Detox (Step-by-Step)

1. Use a Basic Phone Strategy

One way to deal with it is to switch off your mobile completely. If its battery becomes 0%,then it’s even better, don’t charge it again so that even if you feel like picking it up, you’ll be reminded that you first have to charge it.

This method works well when you are on vacation or it’s the weekend and you don’t want to waste your entire free time on mobile.

Another thing worth mentioning is to keep a simple mobile phone with you like a basic Nokia to attend only important calls or messages. Keep your smartphone off and only turn it on when necessary. Keep the basic phone with you most of the time , one that has no games, no WhatsApp, no YouTube, and none of the entertainment apps.

2. Desktop-Only App Access

Another method for social media detox is to install the necessary apps from your mobile on your laptop or PC using QR codes. Then turn off your mobile and keep it aside. This way, whenever you really need to use those apps, you’ll have to turn on your laptop, which takes more effort than picking up your phone.

So you’ll only turn it on when you have 3–4 important tasks to do at once. This will reduce distraction and give you a sense of control.

However, this technique works best if you’re a teenager or student who doesn’t have to attend important calls during the day.

3. Scheduled Phone Check-ins

Even during a social media detox, you might need to check your mobile at least once a day for important messages, emails, or calls.

For that, the best solution is to allocate a specific time, check your phone after finishing your morning tasks, check messages, and then switch it off again.

Even if you don’t have anything to do, that doesn’t mean you have to use your phone and engage in social media platforms.

Most of the time, we don’t really need our mobile.

You can sit alone, spend time with plants, make real friends and hang out with them in the real world.

Believe me, one trustworthy, real friend is better than a hundred online friends.

Nowadays, mobile phones have become people’s best friends. It’s almost hilarious that someone can consider a device their best friend.

A mobile phone or social media channels it have can be a great source of information, a great tool for learning, a helpful convenience, and even a problem solver but it can never be your friend.

Don’t make yourself emotionally so weak that you tie your feelings to everything.

The 7-Day Digital Detox Challenge

Now here’s a fun challenge I want to give you:

For at least 7 days, or ideally 30 days, turn off your phone and see what happens.
Detach yourself socially and observe.

You’ll realize how much of your life you’ve been living under illusions.
You’ll realize the things you used to give so much importance to don’t even deserve it.
You’ll realize that the things you made a matter of life and death were actually worthless.

No matter how much you try to justify it, the statuses, the social media stuff, the online lives on Instagram, most of it is a lie.

Let me give you an example:

You post a photo of yourself. Suppose you’re a socially active person and you get 100 likes.

That’s just a dopamine hit. That’s how your brain works.

Now if you wear the same outfit, the same makeup, your hair and nails done in real life and walk on the streets, will 100 people still send you heart emojis and tell you how great you look?

No obviously.Because most of the compliments and online attention is superficial, just something that needs to be done.

Who cares if you got a new job?

Who cares if you can do 100 push-ups in 10 minutes?

Who cares if you had a healthy breakfast this morning?

Who cares if you’re doing good in life?

That’s why none of this really matters and you need to focus on what truly matters.

The real detox you need is a detox of the mind. A social media detox is just one step. The real work is cleansing yourself from all the poor concepts you’ve been taught. That’s the true detox.

You need to understand that when you install any application and use it, you are just a consumer of a product. Don’t just be a consumer of products. Be a creator, a maker, a doer, a worker, a performer.

Set Clear Boundaries for Screen Time

Here’s another helpful tip:

Take a pen and paper and make a list of all the apps installed on your phone.

Now tick only the ones you truly need, I repeat, only the ones you truly need.

Delete the rest , all those apps that are only there for wasting time.

Now take a look at your screen time per app.

Observe and ask yourself , are you spending time on apps that aren’t benefiting you at all and are eating away at your time like termites?

Many people think:

Oh, I need some leisure time during the day and if an app helps me with that, that doesn’t mean I don’t need it.

But here’s the counter-argument:

Yes, you do need leisure time.
But does it have to involve your mobile?

If you’re spending 4 to 5 hours on leisure and fun apps then they’re draining your energy more than they’re giving you anything in return.

Now ask yourself honestly, are you really gaining anything from that?

The real benefit isn’t just detoxing; you need to reduce social media use so you can focus on more important things.

Life After a Social Media Detox

Leisure time can be:

Going for a walk with a friend, watching the sunset with your children, reading your favorite book, cooking your special meal and enjoying it with family, playing with your kids, going for a long drive, meeting new people in real life, listening to your grandparents’ stories and so much more…

And when you will try these, you will get to know that real leisure heals you.

Phone-based leisure usually drains you.

This is life.

This is long-term peace.

This is what your phone can never give you.

That comes from real people, real moments and real silence.

Her hands were dark, feet were covered in dirt, and there were stains on her face.

I went to the village and saw that woman who works all day long.

After having breakfast in the morning, she manages all the household chores and then helps her husband in the fields or arranges fodder for her animals.

Then I encountered another woman in my city who takes care of herself completely.

She pays attention to every part of her being, even to her nails and hands, using proper creams and foundations.

I went to villager woman, and she said to me,

You are beautiful.

Surprised, I asked, How so?

She replied,

your hands are so soft, and your skin is so smooth. Look at me; working all day has made me look ugly with all this dust and dirt.

Am I really beautiful, while she feels ugly?

The hands that have never worked hard,

the feet that have never walked through different kinds of dirt,

the face that has never seen dust,

the feet that have never faced hardship,

the mind that has never contemplated deeply,

and the heart that has never been patient,

 Can that be called beauty?

No, beauty belongs to those who work hard, who leave an impact on others, who keep sweetness in their hearts, who compel the mind to think, and who give their hands and feet a tough time.

Beauty belongs to those who toil.

Meeting that hardworking woman made me realize that she is beautiful because her efforts are greater. Her loyalty to her husband is commendable, and she has an influence, even if she may not realize it.

Inner beauty doesn’t fade with age or depend on physical appearance.

It is the quiet strength behind a gentle heart, the kind smile given without reason, and the patience that stays when others walk away.

This is the essence of true beauty – not something you see in the mirror, but something you feel in someone’s presence.

A person with real beauty doesn’t need to be loud to be noticed. Their energy speaks for them. They light up a room not with their looks, but with their kindness, grace, and the way they make others feel seen and valued.

In a world that constantly redefines the meaning of beauty, it’s important to remember that what makes someone truly beautiful is who they are not, what they look like.

Have you ever felt like you’re not making growth in life, despite putting in the effort?

It’s as if you’re stuck in a rut, and no matter how hard you try, you’re not seeing the

results you desire. You’re not alone. Many of us have been there, feeling like we’re failing,

even when we’re actually growing.

The truth is, growth is often a slow and subtle process, and it’s easy to overlook the signs

of progress when we’re too focused on the end result. In this post, we’ll explore the signs

that you’re growing, even if it feels like you’re failing.

1. You’re Facing Your Fears

One of the most significant signs of growth is that you’re facing your fears. When you’re

challenged to step out of your comfort zone, it’s natural to feel anxious or apprehensive.

However, by confronting your fears head-on, you’re demonstrating courage and

    resilience.

For example, let’s say you’ve always been afraid of public speaking. You start

taking small steps to overcome this fear, such as speaking up in meetings or presenting to

small groups. These tiny victories may seem insignificant, but they’re actually a huge

indicator that you are growing in your life.

    2. You’re Learning from Your Mistakes

Another sign of growth is that you’re learning from your mistakes. When you’re not afraid

to take risks and make mistakes, you’re opening yourself up to new experiences and

opportunities. You’re also developing a growth mindset, which is essential for personal

    and professional development.

For instance, imagine you start a new business, and it doesn’t quite take off as planned.

Instead of giving up, you analyze what went wrong and use those lessons to improve your

    next venture.

    3. You’re Developing Emotional Intelligence

Emotional intelligence (EI) is the ability to recognize and understand emotions in yourself

and others. As you grow, you’re likely to become more aware of your emotions and how

they impact your relationships. You’re also more likely to develop empathy and learn to

    manage your emotions effectively.

For example, you may find that you’re better able to manage stress or that you’re more

    patient with others.

    4. You’re Becoming More Self-Aware

Self-awareness is the foundation of personal growth. As you grow, you’re likely to become

more aware of your strengths, weaknesses, values, and goals. You’re also more likely to

develop a sense of purpose and direction.

For instance, you may realize that you’re not passionate about your current career and

start exploring new options that align with your values.

    5. You’re Taking Care of Yourself

Taking care of your physical, emotional, and mental health is essential for growth. When

you’re prioritizing self-care, you’re investing in your overall well-being and setting yourself

    up for success.

For example, you may start exercising regularly, meditating, or practicing gratitude.

    6. You’re Surrounding Yourself with Positive People

The people you surround yourself with can have a significant impact on your growth.

When you’re surrounded by positive, supportive people, you’re more likely to feel

encouraged and motivated to reach your goals.

For instance, you may join a community or find a mentor who believes in you and your

    abilities.

    7. You’re Being Patient with Yourself

Growth is a slow and often frustrating process. It’s easy to get discouraged when you’re

not seeing immediate results. However, when you’re patient with yourself, you’re giving

yourself permission to learn and grow at your own pace.

For example, you may set realistic goals and celebrate small victories along the way.

    Last Thoughts

In conclusion, growth is a subtle and often overlooked process. It’s easy to feel like you’re

failing when you’re not seeing the results you desire. However, by recognizing the signs of

growth, you can celebrate your progress and stay motivated to reach your goals.

Remember, growth is a journey, not a destination. You starts growing, when you become

self aware and practice consistently on things which matters and can make your life

better. It’s okay to take your time, make mistakes, and learn from them.

We always keep asking chatgpt strange or new things just to see what it will answer.

Today, I got the thought, why not give chatgpt such condition:

Prompt: If you were devil, how would you destroy today’s young generation?

The answer was heart-shaking and also not.

It was heart-shaking because to destroy someone, the devil doesn’t even need to put in

much effort. If he succeeds in hitting the right spot, everything falls into his grip.

And it was not heart-shaking because it all felt too familiar, as if something already is

    happening.

    Its response was:

Here’s how, if I am the devil (symbolizing evil or harmful influences), I might try to destroy

    today’s youth:

    1. Confuse Their Identity and Purpose

Make them constantly doubt who they are, why they exist, and if their life matters.

Use comparison, overthinking, negative self-talk, and future scenarios in their mind which

are never going to happen to create insecurity.

Make them think likes and followers are their worth.

    My Reflection:

Doesn’t all this feel familiar to you?

Because many people are already trapped in this cycle. They doubt themselves before

doing anything like, maybe I can’t do it. They create such a huge mountain in their mind

that even the smallest task feels hard. In reality, they’re fighting a mountain they’ve

created in their own mind, that’s why.

And sometimes, it becomes a habit to always compare yourself, to not even consider your

    worth. And you know what?

    These things can be treated.

When we read or listen to something that has purpose, it helps. When we read it

ourselves, or make an effort to hear something meaningful, we keep reminding our brain

to not think in a negative way. Slowly but surely, the brain starts finding the right

    direction.

I’d recommend reading the scriptures of your faith or self-help books – in your car, at the

gym, or even during walks. Little by little, it works.

    2. Addict Them to Distraction

Fill every free moment with noise, endless scrolling, meaningless content, games, gossip,

trends so they never pause to reflect, think deeply, or grow spiritually.

Keep them busy with entertainment so they never ask: ‘Why am I really here?

    My Reflection:

I think chatgpt made a really valid point. Because if your brain is always in consumption

mode, when will you even digest everything?

Do you remember the last time you just sat quietly?

We’re consuming a lot of information that’s not even worth our attention.

We feel ashamed when someone asks us, Did you hear what happened at that event or

that mall? That video went viral, and you don’t even know.

The reality is that many young people are wasting their precious minds and hearts on

garbage, and worse they think by watching this rubbish, they’re staying updated with the

    world.

    3. Break Their Relationships

Encourage broken homes, temporary relationships, and a culture that avoids real

commitment. Make love shallow, friendships fake, and trust rare.

Make sure they think loyalty is ‘old school’

    My Reflection:

We now run from hard times instead of working through them. Trust is rare, loyalty feels

old, and real friendship is hard to find. But the solution is simple: Be the one who stays,

who forgives, who values real love, protect commitment and honor promises.

    4. Isolate Them Emotionally

Even in a crowd, make them feel alone. Replace real connection with fake digital

validation. Let depression grow in silence.

Convince them no one truly understands them not even God.

    My Reflection:

Your emotional isolation is more dangerous than physical isolation. You can solve

emotional loneliness with real people, real connections which are usually few and real

    moments.

    5. Reward Stupidity, Cancel Wisdom

Make ignorance go viral. Silence thinkers. Punish anyone who speaks truth.

Let their heroes be fools, and their elders be jokes.

    My Reflection:

Let me tell you a short story:

One day I asked my father,

Can you tell me who was the richest person you remember from your time? The one you

used to hear about or listen to?

He thought for a moment and said,

    No, I don’t remember anyone.

    Then I asked,

Whom did you used to listen to in your youth or follow?

He told me about religious scholars, literary figures he knew during his Urdu studies, and

some people from his own profession.

He still doesn’t know the richest people of today’s era.

But in that moment, I realized that our generation forgotten who to follow.

We glamorize what’s trending. But deep down, we don’t even know who deserves to be

    followed.

We choose our heroes based on their style, how many cool cars they drive, or what watch

or bag they carry, how many money they have in their bank account. That’s when we

become blind followers whom anyone can control, far from real wisdom.

    6. Make Them Fake Online & Empty Offline

Let them build perfect online lives while their real lives collapse. Make their online version

    full of filters, edits, lies.

They’ll be afraid of silence and allergic to real life.

    My Reflection:

I think everyone needs a social media detox at least 7 days so they can come back to their

senses. They need to check what’s going on inside their soul, what they’re following, what

they want in life, and where they’re headed.

Spending some time in boredom can help them reconnect with themselves. Many young

people aren’t giving their brains and hearts even a small space to relax and reflect.

At least detox for a while to get your answers, see who really cares about you when you

disappear for a short while and also you’ll get many more answers.

    7. Make Them Think They Know Everything

Give them Google, TikTok wisdom, and fake confidence. Make them unteachable so they

    never grow.

Knowledge without humility leads straight to arrogance and then destruction.

    My Reflection:

Do you know the difference between a wise person and a foolish one?

A wise man knows he knows nothing and a fool thinks he knows everything.

The worst part of today’s generation is that their source of knowledge is Instagram reels

    and TikTok.

What depth can a 30-second video offer?

Even a person who reads many books can’t claim to know everything or believe that what

    they read is 100% accurate.

Why? Because the world is full of misinformation.

And social media is the biggest tool for misinformation. We have to be very conscious,

Dear people to make sure we’re not unintentionally spreading false ideas or beliefs,

because those words could become the reason someone else gets hurt even more.

    8. Make Them Loud About Injustice But Quiet About Their Own Sins

Let them scream about politics, gender, and rights But never fix their character, lies,

    backbiting, or pride.

Let them be warriors online, but cowards in their own hearts.

    My Reflection:

Correction and fixing always starts within ourselves. Your words won’t have impact if you

yourself don’t walk the right path.

    9. Fill Their Heads, Starve Their Souls

Give them books, degrees, certificates but no character. Let them learn everything about

the world except about themselves or their Creator.

    Smart brains. Dead hearts.

    My Reflection:

The biggest tragedy of a human is they may read tons of books, gain great knowledge,

    know the truth and still remain misguided. The path to the soul starts from the heart;

when a person reflects, thinks, and ponders.

You can be the best doctor in a world and still blindly follow nonsense ideas if you don’t

    think for yourself.

You can be a top engineer and still believe baseless things if someone tells you to.

In the end, you have to use your own brain.

Let me give you an example:

Suppose a well-known doctor writes a book on the benefits of alcohol. He gives many

reasons, proves it makes the body warm, and lists 100 benefits.

And you start thinking, okay, maybe alcohol is good for my health.

Then another doctor comes and writes another detailed book about the dangers of

alcohol. With facts and logic, he also proves how harmful it is.

    So, whom will you believe?

There, you have to use your own brain.

You can use your own experience, or ask someone in your circle who used to drink, how

are they doing in life? You can read more books and listens to more perspectives.

By comparing both, your brain will arrive at the truth, that it’s harmful for your health.

In the end, it’s you who decides. If you’re a good person, you’ll choose what benefits you

and doesn’t harm others even if you’re not religious.

One day, when I was preparing for my college exams, my mother got a call from one of

    our relatives.

My mother came and said to me that the relative’s daughter wants to talk to you.

I already knew what she was going to say, because she always called during exams. And

she used to ask me to share the papers I had already taken so that she could prepare for

her own exams in different ways. I used to help her, but when it became a habit to only

call during exams, I got tired, and that day, I cut the call without helping.

My grandfather, whom I already admire because of his wisdom and the way he explains

things in simple words, asked me why I had cut the call without speaking.

I said: she remembers me only during exams and I don’t want to keep helping others

who are selfish and only show up when they need something.

He looked at me, calm and kind as always, and said,

If she was asking for help, you should have helped.

Me: Why should I help someone who remembers me only when they need something?

    Grandfather paused, then asked quietly:

So you will only help those who have the ability to give something back in return? Is that

what helping others means to you?

That question hit me. I fell silent. For a moment, I thought maybe he didn’t understand what I meant.

    But he continued and said:

If someone remembers you in a moment of need, that’s actually something beautiful.

That is a blessing from God that when someone needed help, your name came to their mind.

I paused again for a moment and said:

But Grandpa, she will never value me. If she keeps coming every time and I keep helping,

she’ll never realize it. she’ll never understand my worth. She’ll just keep taking me for

    granted.

He smiled softly, the kind of smile only wise people carry, and said:

You know, dear… we can never repay God for all the blessings He has given us. All the

deeds and good actions we do, we do them for ourselves. God neither benefits nor loses

anything from them. But you know what, dear, God still helps us. He chooses to help

everyone whether someone obeys Him or not. So when you help someone without

expecting anything in return… you are actually reflecting a divine quality. And that, he

paused, looking straight into my eyes, is the highest kind of goodness.

I was understanding what he said, but still, a part of my heart wasn’t fully convinced.

There was one more thing left unsaid.

Me: But Grandpa, if I keep helping people who only use me, she’ll never value me. In this

way, people don’t respect you. They just learn how to use you, and I don’t want to be

    used.

He gently leaned forward and asked me something that I’ll never forget:

So that means your respect lies in the hands of that person?

If one day she chooses to respect you, only then you’ll become respectful? And if someone

chooses not to listen to you or only remembers you when they need you, will you become

    disrespectful for your whole life?

I was stunned. I had no words. But he wasn’t done yet.

Dear, this is about you. This is about your value. That’s what makes you different. When

you choose to help someone even when you know they are just trying to take advantage

and won’t even thank you, until it’s not harming you – That is goodness. That is character.

And that decides who you are.

    Then he added,

Tough times in life reveal who you are, by the choices you make in those moments.

    I started to say,

    But Grandpa, she still won’t…..

    He interrupted me gently:

Every time you help someone selflessly without keeping any negative thoughts in your

mind, you are silently telling them – this is who I am, and that is who you are. You are

    maintaining your self-respect too.

If they are good people, they will realize even if it takes a long time. And if they don’t…

well, that’s not your burden. You’re only responsible for your own actions, your own soul.

As he spoke, it felt like something was changing in my heart.

That day, I realized how selfless you should be. Because these are the things you do that

remain hidden in your heart. No one claps for you in a crowd for that but you are

    becoming who you should be.

That day, I learned that helping others, even when it feels unnoticed, shapes who we are.

It was an inspirational short story about helping others, one that unfolded quietly in the

middle of my own life, yet left a lasting mark on my heart.

The Art of Being Alone is a heavenly book written by author Renuka Gavrani who writes self-help books. In this book review, I am going to tell you the core points which she covers in her book (without giving spoilers) to show you why this book is worth reading. I’ll also explain who this book is for and who should read it.

Books are always a blessing, but if a book is written by a writer who shakes your mind and also speaks to your heart, then such writers are truly rare. And if it’s said that the world needs such writers, it wouldn’t be wrong.

I’m not writing this book review to give you an excuse not to read the book, but to help you understand why you need this book, and what it conveys that we are missing in our lives. I’ve broken this book review down into bullet points so you may remember the reasons to read the book later and uncover the realities in your own way.

3 Quiet Truths That Resonate Deeply

    1. Alone Time = Real Time

The first few pages of the book talk about the writer’s sufferings, how loneliness shaped her and how she found meaning through it.

And it’s not just that we need a little loneliness, we actually need more loneliness than the time we spend with people. We need more time with ourselves than with others to figure out where we’re going in life and what direction we need.

We are often on autopilot – not observing, not questioning. Social media plays a major role in this, training our minds to follow, not think. The author urges us to redefine everything – our thoughts, our habits and our very identities.

    2. How It’s Only You Who Matter in Your Life

She didn’t write this to make us selfish or uncaring, or to say that nobody matters in life.
But the writer talks more about enjoying time with your loved ones, and also finding joy with yourself when nobody is around.

I’m reminded of a story from my childhood, when I used to live in the village.

In my childhood, I used to spend most of my time with my neighbor friends or cousins. We did homework together, went to school together, and played together; that was my daily routine.

But sometimes, when I felt tired, exhausted, or just wanted some quiet place, I would sit alone under a tree or go to the fields in the evening.

My grandmother didn’t like children being alone. She didn’t want me to look like a weirdo. She would always say,

“Why are you sitting alone? Go and play with the other kids.”

But my grandfather would always say:

“Let them figure things out on their own. Children need to feel something. Let them sit alone for a while. Let them think for themselves too.”

At that time, I didn’t realize it. But now I do, what it means to be alone and discover new ideas.

Now, I understand what kind of freedom he was trying to give us.

This book shares that same message but in a broader and beautifully simple way.

    3. How You’re Losing Yourself Without Even Realizing It

You can’t fix a problem until you know where the problem is.

And you can’t know where the problem is unless you sit with yourself.

We’ve never looked inward. We spend so much time absorbing others’ opinions, yet rarely use even half of that to think about ourselves or focus on self-care.

Can a person truly be happy if he don’t even know who he is?

Can someone bring love and joy to others if they can’t give it to themselves?

Sorry to say, but such a person often becomes a burden. A burden nobody wants to carry.

This book shows us how to slowly change that, step by step.

There’s a lot more that the writer shared but you’ll only truly understand when you read it yourself. Even the most thoughtful book review is just the beginning, because every reader connects with it differently.

The real heaven is when you hold the book gently in your hands, sit in a quiet place, and read it word by word with your own thoughts.

The real blessing is holding with your own hand.

    Who Should Read This Book?

This book is for those who go through loneliness but see it as a burden, for those who cannot find a middle way through their problems. For those who understand things better when written in simple words, and for those who, when someone opens up their soul in front of them, are able to reflect and improve themselves because we humans have many things in common, and many pains and unspoken feelings that we all go through.

If said in simple words, then this book is for everyone whether a child, an adult or an old person because a book touches each person in its own unique way.

    Yuval Noah Harari once said:

you write a book and then the book has its own life and it goes places and it meets people and you really have no idea where it will be going and what kind of impact it will have and that’s a good thing.

There is one more thing, when you reread the book and everything seems more beautiful and different, when every page gives you a new meaning and changes you for the better, that’s when you know it’s a truly special book.

Math is one of the easiest subjects compared to others, though many might not agree since they often find it frustrating. However, the truth is that math doesn’t require memorizing complex names, long theories, or facts.

It simply needs a bit more focus from you.

In this blog, I’ll share some hacks that I use, which made math fun and easy for me and it can help you too. These proven math problem solving tricks will help you approach questions more strategically, avoid common pitfalls, and stay focused under pressure.

    1. Always Start with the Last Question

Math exercises usually contain numerous questions, and it’s not always possible to practice all of them.

But if you begin with the last question, you’ll get a chance to grasp the maximum concepts.

The earlier questions are generally easier, so instead of wasting time on them, start with the last one. The last questions often cover the main concepts of the exercise, saving you time.

However, I’m not saying to only practice the last question. Work your way backward, doing the second-last, third-last, and so on.

For example, if an exercise has 40 questions, aim to do at least 10 to 15 of them.

But this technique is only valid when you’re already familiar with the basic concept of that particular exercise or chapter, when you’ve watched some videos before to understand the concept behind the exercise. Then you can do this.

     2. Don’t Look at the Solution While Practicing

Many students have the habit of glancing at the solution while solving the problem, but this reduces productivity.

When you already know the end result, you won’t make a genuine effort to solve it on your own.

Try the question by yourself first and then check the solution afterward.

If you get it wrong, look at the solution method and then try again on your own.

Students who dislike math often say it’s because they have to memorize the steps. Many students tend to copy the solution from solution guides step by step while practicing, thinking it’s the easiest way to learn. But the reality is, most solution guides especially the ones available online or in books often skip several important steps. These missing steps create confusion, and students end up wasting a lot of mental energy trying to figure out how the answer suddenly jumped from one stage to another without any clear explanation.

They sit there, staring at the page, wondering where that number came from or why a particular formula was applied, and it becomes a frustrating cycle. They keep trying to decode the logic behind the skipped parts instead of actually learning the concept.

But what’s the point of just copying? If you’re not truly understanding what you’re doing, how can you expect to solve similar questions on your own later?

Copying might help you complete an exercise in the short term, but it won’t help you develop the ability to think critically or solve problems creatively. You miss the chance to train your brain to approach questions from different angles and find new solutions.

And honestly, understanding concepts deeply doesn’t require you to work like a machine. It’s not about extreme hard work, it’s just about giving it focused time and genuine attention.

Once you do that, everything starts making sense, and learning becomes smoother and more enjoyable.

     3. Avoid Messy Work

While practicing math, make it a habit to write your solutions neatly.

Use bigger pages so you can fit all the steps properly on one line, avoiding confusion.

Students often give up after trying to solve long problems when they’ve done everything right but end up with the wrong answer due to messy work.

Avoid overwriting or crossing out things; neatness is key.

     4. Move on to the Next Question

If you’ve tried hard, used all the methods you know, but still can’t solve a question, don’t waste too much time on it.

Move on to the next one. I know this sounds silly, but it works.

However, make sure to note down the question you struggled with so you can return to it later.

     5. Take Breaks

Sometimes a short break can do wonders.

A quick walk, drinking water, or just relaxing for a few minutes can refresh your energy.

Giving your mind a break isn’t just about rest, it’s often in those quiet, unfocused

moments that real insight forms. The hidden power of boredom plays a role here,

helping your brain process ideas in the background without you even noticing.

Your mind will be more focused when you return, and you’ll solve problems with more clarity.

So, if you’re feeling drained, take a break and everything will feel easier.

     6. Seek Help

Always look at how others approach solutions and solve problems.

This will enhance your capability and give you a new perspective.

Discuss math problems with friends, parents, teachers, or anyone who can help.

Even if it’s just once, make sure to ask for help. Whether it’s asking a classmate, joining a

study group, or using reliable online resources, getting support can save time and reduce

frustration. Some platforms even offer insightful strategies to help you learn math more

effectively through self-paced methods like this one.

     7. Focus on Understanding the Why, Not Just the How

Millions saw the apple fall, but Newton asked why.

Math isn’t just about solving problems mechanically.

To excel, you need to understand why a particular method works, not just how to apply it.

When you deeply understand the reasoning behind a formula or a method, you’ll be able to apply it more effectively to different types of problems.

Ask yourself questions like Why is this step necessary? or What does this represent? to deepen your understanding.

    8. Use Real-Life Applications

You’ve also probably asked your math teacher at some point,

Where do we even use these long, complex solutions?

What’s the need to learn such difficult topics like derivatives, integration, and probability when we don’t use them in real life?

But the truth is, it’s possible that we might use these concepts in our professional lives, but not necessarily in our daily real-life situations. Still, you should learn them. Do you know why?

Because you’re here to explore, to unfold answers. These concepts will teach you that there’s always more than one way to solve a problem. They’ll train you to look at other people’s solutions with an open mind and an open heart. They’ll remind you that no matter how hard you try, sometimes your effort may still lead to a result of zero and that too is a lesson.

And beyond that, they’ll teach you patience, persistence, perspective and so much more.

So, one amazing thing you can do with math is try solving problems related to things you encounter in your daily life, like figuring out percentages at a store, measuring ingredients while cooking, or calculating your finances more complexly.

     9. Understand Graphs and Diagrams

Most students focus on long solutions and derivations, but they fail to grasp the core concept. Graphs and diagrams make the concepts more visually appealing and help you understand the problem and its solution better.

Always use charts, graphs, and diagrams to assist in your learning so the long solutions won’t feel overwhelming.

     10. Teach Someone Else

One of the best ways to solidify your understanding of math is by teaching it to someone else. When you explain a concept or a problem to someone else, you reinforce your own knowledge.

Try teaching a friend, a sibling, or even explaining problems to yourself out loud.

This technique helps you identify gaps in your understanding and think critically about the problem.

In the end, I just want to say that whatever you try in life, everything requires hard work and patience.

Even if you’re doing something you’re fully passionate about and enjoy, it still demands effort and time, day and night. So, keep grinding, and Inshallah, you will achieve success.

Mathematics may not teach us to add love or subtract hate, but it gives us hope that every problem has a solution.

When it comes to how to choose the right book to read, it’s not just about picking a popular title or a pretty cover. A meaningful reading experience starts with a mindful approach. The secret to how to choose the right book to read isn’t in reviews or algorithms, it’s in learning to listen to what your mind and heart truly need.

Because sometimes some thoughts stayed incomplete, and some memories stayed unspoken. Some emotions sank quietly into the heart. There were things people couldn’t understand, and there were things you couldn’t express in a crowd. That’s when God created books so that your incomplete feelings and thoughts could find a voice.

If I had to say it all in one sentence, I would say:

One day, the universe decided to listen to the human heart, and that’s when books were born.

But the truth is, many people are still unfamiliar with this magic. They don’t know how to truly read a book. They don’t know how to listen to words.

There are questions that don’t always have loud answers, but they quietly echo in almost every reader’s mind.

Why don’t I feel like reading sometimes? Can I disagree with the author or do I have to believe everything they write? Should I read just a little and reflect, or push myself to read more and more? And does a book really have something to do with the person who wrote it?

We all want books to move us, teach us, or change something inside but we rarely stop to ask how we should actually read them. This post isn’t about reading more – it’s about reading better, deeper, and more honestly.

    1. Whenever you choose a book in a library,

Whenever you pick a book from a library or a shelf, always read about the author. Most writers leave some information about themselves in the beginning pages, and some on the last. Learn the author’s background, note when they wrote the book, and understand the issue or perspective they’re addressing.

Why it matters who wrote the book you’re reading

This is important because the books we read are always bound by space and time. An author’s sources and opinions change with time.

For example, suppose you’re reading a book about World War II written during the war itself. There’s a high chance that much of the information could be incorrect, not because the writer was careless, but because the sources and knowledge available at that time were limited.

Many truths only come to light as time passes and as the world sees things from a wider perspective.

That’s why it’s essential to check when a book was written and under what circumstances, so you don’t end up misunderstanding or forming biased views, also understanding the author’s experiences helps shape how to choose the right book to read that resonates personally.

It’s also important to know who wrote it, what if the writer himself was a victim or misinformed? In such cases, the chances increase that the author’s opinions might be biased and if we don’t reflect carefully, readers may adopt those biases without realizing.

Let me give you real-life example, Mein Kampf was written by Adolf Hitler during his time in prison, long before World War II. The book is filled with his personal ideology, political beliefs, and deep biases especially against Jews and certain ethnic groups. At the time, many people read it and either believed in it blindly or didn’t fully grasp the danger in his words.

Hitler wrote as a man who saw himself as a victim of war, defeat, and injustice, and used that mindset to justify extreme hatred and violence. His personal trauma and twisted beliefs became part of a book that ended up influencing millions – many of whom accepted his opinions without questioning their origin, context, or consequences.

That’s why it matters to know who wrote a book, what shaped their thinking, and whether their words reflect truth or just a dangerous perspective masked as truth.

A big part of how to choose the right book to read is knowing whether you trust the mind behind the message. If readers had examined the background, source, and mindset of the writer, perhaps fewer would have absorbed those ideas without resistance.

These things may seem minor at first, because when we pick up a book, our focus is usually on the story, the plot, or the message. But subconsciously, we imprint a certain image of the book in our minds. That’s why it’s crucial not to accept a writer’s words as the final truth.

    2. Read Slowly

You know why doctors advise people to chew and eat food slowly?

There are many reasons, but I’ll list just three:

    • Our stomach can digest it properly then.
    • Your body absorbs more vitamins and minerals.
    • You practice mindful eating.

Exactly, that’s how our brain works when we read a book slowly and calmly.

When you read slowly, your brain processes information gently and without stress. You get the chance to truly understand what you’re reading and also to look at it from other angles. Some educators and literacy advocates have even spoken in defense of reading slowly, saying it leads to deeper thinking, better memory, and a more meaningful connection with the text.

By reading steadily, you begin to relate the text to your own circumstances and experiences. In other words, you start finding connections between your life and the writer’s words. That is the moment when everything starts to fall into place.

    Slow feeds the mind

For example, read this quote from The Alchemist:

When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.

If you read it quickly just for the sake of reading, you might think the meaning is simply:

If the universe means for something to happen, it makes it happen or If I truly want something, I might make it happen.

But slow down your thoughts for a moment, you’ll realize that when you truly want something – not just a casual wish, but a deep, genuine desire from your inner soul, you start getting little signs and hints that the universe is sending your way.

You begin to feel that everything is connecting to your path. And slowly, as you take step by step, you start enjoying the journey even more than reaching the destination.

    That’s where the magic lies.

That’s exactly where you should place your focus and energy.

In fact, to be honest, you don’t even have to make that much effort. your brain will automatically begin to think that way. All you need to do is give it the right direction.

Books that offer mental nutrients are essential when learning how to choose the right book to read with long-term value. These are the extra nutrients that your brain needs – the ones you’ll never get from fast reading.

    Mindful reading

Let me give you a simple example:

Imagine someone brings you tons of food on your birthday. Or you go to a wedding and see a huge buffet.

Do you eat everything at once?

Obviously not, because you know your stomach won’t digest it and you might get sick.

So does it matter if you eat 20 plates of salad at once, if you’re going to get sick?

Then how does it matter if I read 20 books in a day if I’m not going to feel anything?

Read only as much in a day as you can mentally absorb. Being present with each word naturally sharpens your ability to choose the right book to read for your current stage of life.

Let your brain have space to digest what you’ve just read. Let yourself be bored for a while, and let your mind wander. Be slow but focused.

    3. Don’t idealize the author

Humans are such a creation of God that they attach emotions to nearly everything they get inspired by.

This is both a strength and a weakness, that a human’s emotions get tied to anything.

    There’s nothing wrong with this.

But the problem begins when it turns toxic, when a reader becomes blind to other perspectives, when they stop reflecting and thinking on their own, when their mind shuts down at just the writer’s words.

A good writer will never ask you to blindly trust his words.

He may put in full effort to say what’s best and true but he’ll also ask you to go and see, hear, taste, and explore other opinions even if he’s a master of his subject.

Being true to yourself is what matters, and if you’re going to lose that part of yourself in the process, then what’s the point of reading at all?

So always remember, Turn on the light of your brain first, then read.

Many great individuals have passed through history—people whose legacy may be remembered as long as the world exists.

    But do you know this:

What is the identity of people who leave a long-lasting impact?

What are those principles and habits that they follow which make them so admirable that the world envies them?

In this post, I’ll list those qualities and values. Read each one carefully and reflect on yourself to understand which one of it you have and whether you’re moving in the right direction.

    1. Respecting Their Own Culture and Values

Great people wear their traditions, culture, language, and morals like a crown on their heads.

They don’t care what city they are in, who they are among, or where they are. That’s why such people can be recognized even in a crowd of thousands.

Loving your own culture doesn’t mean looking down on people from other backgrounds or religions.

The first principle of love is to respect. Respect for everyone — but clothing, style, and identity should reflect one’s own culture so that no matter where they go in the world, people can identify them.

They respect everyone’s job — whether it’s a painter, plumber, waiter, electrician, mechanic, driver, maintenance worker, or architect. They understand how important each person’s contribution is to the peace and prosperity of society. It is the collective efforts of all that put food on our tables.

    1. Defensive (Wise) Approach in Everything

The true dignity and grandeur of a nation are not shown through words, but through action.

Truly responsible people are not aggressive or hot-tempered. Their emotions and anger don’t overpower their intellect.

They don’t use cheap tricks to trouble others. Instead, they possess broad-mindedness and solid thinking.

Can you imagine a person who has full strength and power to take revenge, yet still chooses forgiveness? How deeply rooted must their moral values be!

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) forgiving the disbelievers despite having full power to take revenge.

Nelson Mandela, who after being released in 1990, instead of taking revenge on the people who imprisoned and oppressed him, he forgave them. As South Africa’s first Black president (1994), he invited his former enemies to the table of peace and unity.

    1. Who They Choose to Follow

What you watch, what you read, what you think about — these all reveal a lot about who you are.

Nations that read historians, listen to intellectuals, and connect with knowledge and sciences, they produce scholars and wise leaders.

Tell me what you pay attention to and I will tell you who you are.

But the nations that promote meaningless trends, live in luxury, and make famous those people who destroy their moral values — such nations might produce cheap entertainment that pleases the eyes and ears for a while, but not thinkers whose words future generations would study.

The key point is conscious people are aware of the problems of the society they live in.
They know the problem statement. And to solve a problem, you must first know what the problem is.

And those who are more sincere and good, they go one step further — they try to find solutions to the problems.

That’s why we study people like Einstein, Faraday, Martin Luther King and Mother Teresa.

But the careless, unaware people remain only concerned about their own problems.
They don’t know what the real problems of society are or what they should be doing.

    Another way to understand this:

Imagine two kids are in a room. One of them goes outside, sees a snake, and comes back to warn the other not to go outside until they find a solution.

The kid who went outside is obviously more aware than the one who stayed inside.

Dear Readers, The point here which you must understand is:

People who are more aware can find solutions before the problem becomes dangerous.
They can prevent harm, save lives, control damage, and offer real help.

Example: When British traders were secretly selling opium in China, most people ignored it. But Lin Zexu, a smart Chinese official, saw how dangerous it was.

He studied the issue, warned the emperor, and banned opium before the crisis got worse. He even destroyed over 1,000 tons of opium publicly.

True intelligence is when you stop the fire before it starts.

    1. Those Who Stand Against What’s Wrong

A selfish person only cares about what affects him. He’ll only raise his voice if something disturbs him personally.

But the truly noble people care about what’s poisoning society and what they can do to fix it.

Protests and boycotts are movements started by common people. This is what alive, aware people do — those who care.

But living corpses live in their own world without caring about anything or anyone — until the fire reaches their own home.

Love for the country, a very heartfelt and emotional sentiment, right?

But… could it be that it’s also leading us in another direction?

    What Best Describes Patriotism?

Patriotism is a virtue that everyone believes should exist in a passionate, living soul who has a deep connection with their homeland. And there’s no doubt that patriotism is a noble emotion.

But if we think a little deeper, let’s go back in time, imagine a time when the concept of countries didn’t even exist. When there were no countries. When the world was ruled by Roman and Persian empires. So,

What did people base their lives on back then?

    Was there patriotism back then?

No. It’s obvious, if there were no countries, there was no concept of loyalty to a country.

In ancient times, people lived in small family groups known as tribes. Back then, loyalty to one’s tribe was considered patriotic.

Later, as kingdoms and empires emerged, people began showing allegiance to their rulers, kings, or emperors who ruled them. The real meaning of nationalism started forming as countries took shape with defined borders.

A major turning point was the French Revolution, when people’s thinking shifted:

Why should we worship kings and emperors? We are loyal to the land, not the monarch.

That’s when people started saying things like:

We are French. We are not just loyal to a king, but to the whole nation of France.

That’s was the time when national flags were made, national anthems were sung. This was the beginning of modern patriotism.

    Why is Patriotism Important?

Love for your homeland is a powerful and active emotion. It’s natural for a human to love the land where they were born and raised.

It’s part of our psychology. We grow attached to the environment we live in, the culture we experience daily.

It gives people a sense of identity, purpose, and unity.

    What is True Patriotism?

True patriotism is not blind worship. It is love that thinks, questions, and grows.

A true patriot works toward building a better society, one that acknowledges flaws, promotes fairness, and uplifts all people.

They do not see patriotism as a license to hate others. They do not support oppression in the name of national pride.

They are brave enough to say,

I love my country, but I don’t support everything it does.

What is the Meaning of False Patriotism?

Let’s not confuse patriotism with national arrogance. When love turns into ego and division, it’s no longer a virtue.

False patriotism is when people blindly defend their nation, even when it’s wrong. It is fueled by superiority, pride, and denial.

    When someone says things like:

    • We are the best.
    • We are always right.
    • We do no wrong.

…they are no longer being patriots.

They are inside a bubble of illusion, no longer thinking critically.

    Is Patriotism Good or Bad?

That depends on what kind of patriotism we’re talking about.

Patriotism is good when it inspires people to serve their country honestly, respect other nations, and bring positive change.

But is patriotism bad when it becomes a weapon of hate?

Yes. It’s bad when it leads to racism, violence, and blind loyalty to corrupt systems.

    There’s a great saying:

    I think, therefore I am.

A person’s soul and existence only stay alive as long as they think, reflect, and keep searching for the “why.” Otherwise, they’re just a walking corpse.

If you only love yourself and everything related to you ,What’s the point of life, then?
Even animals live for themselves. So, what makes a human who’s been given a great mind any different?

So, is patriotism a virtue if it only supports selfish pride?

People often feel proud proving their worth:

You know, I’m from there. That’s why I’m great.

We are the kind of people who achieved this in the past. That’s why we are special.

    People want to feel special.

They want to believe: I’m special. I’m Mr. Perfect.

But let me tell you how ordinary humans are:

    • You can be replaced in seconds.

Can you name even one person in history who was so special and smart that no one could ever replace them?

Great nations have already risen and fallen in this world. We are nothing compared to them.

Even the Qur’an (the holy book of Muslims) says that:

Like those before you: they were stronger than you, and had more wealth and children. They enjoyed their share (of worldly pleasures), so you have enjoyed your share just like they did.

Mind it: To the world, you are not irreplaceable.

    • Everyone is a prisoner of their own life

Held back by their own fears, guilt, doubts, loneliness – all invisible chains.

Every person carries guilt over things they cannot control:

    • Deaths
    • Family conflicts
    • Societal pressure
    • Judgments
    • Competitions
    • Unfair behaviors, and more.

Every person goes through hard times whether they like it or not.

There are so many things that make us ordinary , that make us the same and you know what?

    That’s beautiful.

These common human traits are extraordinary, if only one truly see them.

And this is the kind of mindset we need to make the world a better place.

That’s when you become a good human to everyone. Whether you’re in Africa, Asia, Europe, Pakistan, India, or Sri Lanka – You’ll help people no matter where they’re from.

I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.

    Universal Humanity: Help Without Borders

Patriotism is not wrong , it’s essential.

But when it becomes a tool for hating other nations,

When you start blindly following governments thinking it’s patriotism,

When it starts encouraging war and violence,

When it makes you think it’s okay to violate others’ rights

    That’s when patriotism becomes dangerous.

Not just dangerous, it becomes toxic.

In fact, that’s not even true patriotism anymore.

A true patriot is someone who loves their country with heart and soul, and is ready to sacrifice for it.

But they also accept their nation’s flaws, and respect all cultures.

Only then do societies produce people like Nelson Mandela, Abdul Sattar Edhi, and Martin Luther King Jr.

You don’t have to be born in a land to love its people.

True patriotism doesn’t mean hating other nations. It means caring enough for your own country that you want it to be just, fair, and kind.

We need more people who love their country, but also love truth, justice, and humanity.

    Because real patriotism isn’t loud.

    It’s thoughtful.

    It’s courageous.

And it starts in the heart, not just in the flag.
